We stopped in Las Vegas on our way down and stayed in Excalibur. Addie thought that the magic castle was Disneyland and was the coolest thing she had ever seen. In the morning she wasn't quite ready to leave "Disneyland" yet. I guess we should have stayed in Vegas' version of Disneyland it would have saved a lot of time and money!
There is a reason why so many people call Disneyland "The happiest place on earth" there is no denying that statement. Jeremy and I both have enjoyed going to Disneyland in the past, but this was by far the best experiance we have had yet. As we entered the park Addie's eyes got wider and they seem to have a magical sparkle in them, her mouth dropped, it was a moment we will never forget. (It would have been the ideal seen for a commercial) She was in heaven, soaking it all in like any two year old would. We had a blast! Addie is at such a fun age, she enjoyed every moment of it. I think that we can officially consider Addison obsessed with the characters... her favorites were all of the princesses (of course) and Mickey Mouse. We were not sure how she was going to react sitting with the characters, but to our surprise she loved all of them. She all but tackled Pooh Bear, Tigger and Eeyore, we practically had to pry her off of them. It was fun to see her so excited to see all of them up close. In all Disneyland and California Adventure was a huge success! I guess I did ok considering that I am eight months pregnant. We figured one child is a lot easier to handle than two, better now than later!
Jeremy hit the big Palm Springs Century ride, which ended up being 103.5 miles he and Brett were not happy when they reached the 100 mile mark and realized the ride was not officially over. The extra 3.5 miles can kick your but when you've mentally prepared yourself for 100. All in all it was an awesome ride, highly recommended... maybe we will make this an annual event...anyone interested??
We had a chance to visit the Sharps and Jeremy's little sister DeAnna and her husband Chase on the way home and see both of their beautiful new homes. Thanks for letting us crash at your pad DeAnna and Chase. :)
Sun, sun and more sun... the weather was perfect. It was in the low to mid 70's the entire time. We were all in need of a little break from the snow. We were not that happy to come home to the cold and snow... we are really hoping that Spring is coming really soon.
It was a great time, great weather and good company... thanks Brett, Michelle and baby Jack for enjoying the vacation together!
